LIVENGLISH is a non-profit association founded in 2009 by the Raffaello Sanzio Elementary School parents in Trento, Italy. The purpose of the association is to support and enhance the experimental bilingual program and the ‘vehicular’ program and the teachers involved. Both programs are part of the Raffaello Sanzio-Distretto Scolastico Trento 5. The Elementary School Raffaello Sanzio in Trento is at the forefront of creation of bilingual programs in Italy (Italian-English). The first bilingual program was inaugurated in 2005, as the first program of such magnitude among Italian Public Schools. The program’s main objective is using the English language as a “vehicle” to teach subjects such as Art, physical education, and Science to the classroom environment. After three years of success, the school began a new program where English is used as the primary language for most of the curriculum.
